The Canary Islands Cup of the 420 class, Naviera Armas Trasmediterránea Trophy, concluded this Sunday with three new races held. The event organized by the Real Club Náutico de Gran Canaria awarded prizes to the first classified in the absolute, sub 19 male and female, sub 17 male and female and mixed categories.
Miguel Ángel Morales Hernández and Alejandro Martín Corujo, from the Real Club Náutico de Arrecife, were proclaimed champions of the Canary Islands Cup in the sub 17 male category, finishing as third in the absolute classification. Despite having added more points than on the first day (6th, 3rd and 5th), they maintained the lead in their category.
Mar Betancort Fernández (RCNA) forming a crew with Alejandra Pérez (RCNGC), won the title in the sub 19 female category and second overall.
Second place in the mixed category for Andrea Stinga González and Gabriel Gallego (RCNA), improved the positions of yesterday and closed the Cup in a brilliant way by winning in the last round. In the same category Marina Armas Morales and Pablo O. Cabrera (RCNA) finished third.
Fernando Benítez de la Cruz and Andrés Betancort were also third in the sub 17 male category; the same place was achieved in sub 19 female by the RCNA sailors, Gabriela Gil and Ana Paola Pérez.
Sergio Armas (RCNT) and Celia Negrín (RCNA) closed the general classification by not taking part in any of the tests of the second day.
