The objective proposed by the organization of the Rallye Isla de los Volcanes-Ciudad de Arrecife Trophy has been achieved, after being confirmed by the RFEDA as a round of the Spanish Gravel Rally Cup 2024-CERT Rallycar. After the brilliant 2023 edition and subsequent meetings between the RFEDA itself, the Cabildo de Lanzarote and the CD. Evesport, the doors have been opened again to be in the elite of Spanish rallies from the 2024 season, whose dates of celebration pending the approval of the official calendar by the Assembly of the RFEDA, will be the weekend of July 19 and 20, 2024. The CERT Rallycar is made up of six events and the #RTIV24 would be the fourth scoring event.
From this morning, the president of the Cabildo de Lanzarote, Oswaldo Betancort, congratulated the president of the organizing committee José Víctor Rodríguez and his entire team at CD. Evesport, also thanking the president of the RFEDA, Manuel Aviñó, for the "return of confidence to Lanzarote".
The organization also wants to recognize the work and commitment of the Cabildo de Lanzarote when it comes to "continue pushing" to return to the circuit of the most important national rallies, supporting the organization in all the needs to guarantee the quality of a Rallye Isla de los Volcanes that has been an international event for the last two seasons. For Víctor Rodríguez, "The objective is met and in 2024 we return to the CERT-Rallycar, after an important organizational work and, above all, of the Cabildo Insular de Lanzarote", together with the work of the involved councils and the town halls.
The president of Lanzarote was very happy about this confirmation: "We are facing great news, after the harmful effects that the cancellation of the Rally last year, just one day after its start, had both for the image of Lanzarote and for the reputation of this national event; in addition to the economic cost for the drivers and teams that had already traveled to the island".
Oswaldo Betancort congratulated both the Organizing Committee and the 'Royal Spanish Automobile Federation' for this decision. "And I do so on behalf of the thousands of fans of this sport, but also of the tourism sector: We know the important economic injection that an event of this caliber has for Lanzarote".
The #RTIV24 returns to the elite and does not return alone, because everyone has contributed to improving it and now it is time to strengthen the future by insisting on its international promotion, after its entry into the '2024 Spanish Cup'.
Keep in mind all the participants, officials, commissioners, timekeepers, technicians, collaborators; security and emergency services, local police, national police and civil guard; firefighters and civil protection; Lanzarote institutions (Cabildo, town halls and public administrations); federations, collaborating companies and sponsors; accredited press and media. And of course, the public and the Canarian fans... All have been part of the great Evesport team and the Rallye Isla de los Volcanes-Ciudad de Arrecife Trophy.
