The final day of the XXIX Canary Islands Latin Sail Skiff Championship was exciting with the dispute of the last two races that would crown the best skiff of the season in the Canary Islands. The improvement of the conditions allowed to see a very exciting last day, not being until the last close-hauled when the champion title was decided.

The day was presented with two skiffs highlighted with respect to the rest; the Vallés Estudio Creativo Fayna of Alfredo Morales and the Furia II Nissan of Estanislao Bethencourt. Several skiffs were opting to maintain the fight for the third place and compete, with the pertinent discard, to fight for the first two places.

With a north wind with 14 knots of intensity, the start of the third race of the event was given. Several skiffs were escaping little by little in the race, where the Furia II - Nissan led the rest of the participants, followed by the Vallés Estudio Creativo Fayna and a surprising Playa Dorada captained by Kevin Cabrera who followed in his wake. With some tacking and subsequent withdrawal, the test continued, gradually clarifying the high positions. The Guayre ? Ca'Mario of Pedro de León, the Playa Blanca ? Ayuntamiento de Yaiza ? Burgao of Yonathan Umpierrez and the Furia of Cristian Sánchez also stood out in this first heat, achieving important positions in the race.

The first race on Sunday was won by the Furia II - Nissan, followed by the Vallés Estudio Creativo Fayna and the Playa Dorada. The withdrawal of the CRI ? Ricoh of Orlando Umpierrez left the fight for the third place in the general more open. The last test was presented with great interest. The Vallés Estudio Creativo Fayna took a point to the Furia II Nissan, while the fight for the third position remained very open.

After a false start where numerous boats made an offside and had to repeat. The Furia II ? Nissan returned to take the lead in the race, followed by the CRI ? Ricoh and the Furia, the traditional "chocolate". The passage through the buoy after finishing the first close-hauled was an important filter, with many boats committing some errors that forced them to penalize themselves. This made the route much clearer to the Furia II ? Nissan, which embraced the Canary Islands Championship, closely followed by the CRI ? Ricoh and the Furia.

The classification was going to take an important turn. The CRI-Ricoh took the lead in the race, and provisional third in the general, closely followed by the Furia I and the Playa Blanca. The Furia II ? Nissan occupied the fourth position, and with it would lose the Championship, in favor of the Vallés Estudio Creativo Fayna, which regardless of the position it made, would be favored as long as those of Estanis Bethencourt were above the third place.

The "chocolate" managed to overtake the CRI ? Ricoh and took the provisional third place in the Canary Islands Championship. The Furia II failed to reach its predecessors and saw how the regional trophy escaped, but the saying goes that 'until the tail everything is bull' and, in this championship, never better said.

After the last close-hauled, the Furia of Cristian Sánchez managed to enter first, rising to third place in the Canary Islands Championship, followed by the Playa Blanca of Yonathan Umpierrez. An error of the CRI-Ricoh allowed the Furia II of Estanislao Bethencourt to overtake him, as did the Biosfera La Graciosa of Marcos Enrique Rodríguez, who was much more lagging behind. The third place of the Furia II Nissan allowed him to be champion of the Canary Islands, doubling after having achieved the island title last week. The best classified by the island of Fuerteventura was the Isidoro y Manuela III ? Pizzería Di Napoli of José Pascual Perdomo in the tenth position, while the best classified of Gran Canaria was the Digitalium Playas Las Burras of Domingo Trujillo in the twenty-first position.

The Canary Islands Latin Sail Skiff Championship concluded with a great meal and the awards ceremony, where they were attended by Daniel Perera, president of the Canary Islands Latin Sail Skiff Federation with all his management team; Luis Toledo, president of the Insular Federation of Lanzarote of Latin Sail Skiffs; Francisco Aparicio, Minister of Sports of the Cabildo of Lanzarote; and Roy González, Councilor for Sports of the City Council of Arrecife, were also present at the event.

The Canary Islands Latin Sail Skiff Federation made an acknowledgment to the City Council of Arrecife and the Cabildo of Lanzarote, as well as to the Canary Islands Television, which for the first time in the history of this sport broadcast the races live, with more than three hours of connection. Marcial Cabrera was also recognized for his contribution to the history of the skiffs, as Luis Toledo, for the help provided in this Canary Islands Championship. After them, the CRI ? Ricoh of Orlando Umpierrez received the fifth place award, the Playa Blanca of Yonathan Umpierrez the fourth, the Furia of Cristian Sánchez the third, the Vallés Estudio Creativo Fayna of Alfredo Morales the second and the first, the champion of the Canary Islands Skiffs, the Furia II Nissan of Estanislao Bethencourt.
