Costa Teguise experienced a very special sports afternoon this Saturday in which more than 1,500 boys and girls out of the 2,300 who belong to the Teguise sports family participated in the presentation of the sports schools of municipal interest, made up of more than 20 clubs and entities that have 2 million euros of municipal subsidies each year for the development of their activity in the different modalities.
The mayor of Teguise, Oswaldo Betancort, congratulated "the mothers and fathers who responded to the invitation of the City Council and attended the new sports facility in Costa Teguise for the first time to enjoy such an exciting and hopeful event as this, which brought together thousands of boys, girls, coaches and representatives of the more than 20 clubs that already make up the Teguise sports family and that continues to grow every year, as will the projects and sports investment in the municipality,” said Betancort, highlighting that “work is already underway on a second phase to provide the Sports City with a covered pavilion that includes a swimming pool and to be able to offer a multidisciplinary infrastructure.”
Accompanied by his colleagues from the Government group, Oswaldo Betancort received each of the clubs that participated in the inaugural parade, which also featured the rhythm of the drums of the Woman Batuca female batucada, and the artistic exhibition of the Aerial Circo de Lanzarote, among other surprises for the little ones.
The Councilor for Sports, Gerardo Rodríguez wished everyone a good season and expressed his willingness to "attend to the demands of each club and make progress on the requests" of a long list of entities made up of: CB La Villa, CD Esna Lanzarote, CD Judo Bastian Costa Teguise, CD Ud Palmeiros Costa Teguise, CD Adassa Costa Teguise, CD Patinaje Fayna, CD Bm Blanquiazul Tahiche, CD Patinaje Buenos Ayres, Club Deportivo Chinijos, Cd Artes Marciales Iankiara, CD Golf Hoyo En Uno Lanzarote, CD Futbol-Sala Jameos Tahiche, Cd Bm Alisios Saga Costa Teguise, CDTeguise, CN Nadamás Las Marinas, CV Guenia, CD Tahiche, CB Gruteza, CD Motarilla, CD Lanzarote Raqueta Club, CD Triactiv Por Teguise and CD Lucha Tao.
