He had promised to 'take revenge' and was about to star in an incredible comeback in one of the mythical waves of world surfing. The Canary Islands Team won the return battle of the Red Bull Rivals in Mundaka, with waves of more than 2 meters, although the final victory in the first edition of this competition went to the Peninsula Team. Their large victory achieved in El Confital has been key.

At 9:00 a.m. the expected final battle began, divided into direct confrontations (man on man) between the five surfers from each team. ProSurfer, FreeSurfer, Junior, Girl and Captains have been taking the pulse of what is considered the best left wave in Europe, before measuring themselves in a final duel with all the participants in the water.

In the man on man round, the Canary Islands Team demonstrated its dominance, rising as the winner of all the heats. The great performances of José María Cabrera, Antonio Marqués (who achieved the best score of the day with a 9.90), Adelina Taylor, Yeray García and the captain Jonathan González made us think of a possible Canarian comeback. Motivated by competing for the title in one of the ten best spots in the world, the surfers showed their enormous quality, demonstrating their dominance within the mythical tube of Mundaka and achieving a total delivery of the public with the highest scores of the day.

In the team round, the Peninsula Team reacted. Led by Gony Zubizarreta and Pablo Solar, the peninsulars maintained the advantage that would end up giving them the victory, thanks to the extra score that they scored by signing the "best maneuver" and "best tube" respectively. An action that frustrated the Canarian comeback attempt and crowned the peninsulars as winners in this competition that reflects the historical rivalry of surfing.

The day ended following the tradition of surfing competitions in Mundaka: throwing the winner from the port dock. On this occasion, the Canary Islands Team was in charge of fulfilling it, throwing the members of the Peninsula Team into the water.
