An interesting weekend is coming up for athletics in Lanzarote. All eyes will be on the town of Haro in La Rioja, where the Spanish Club Cross Country Championship will take place on Sunday. The island of Lanzarote will be represented by the ADA Lanzarote CajaCanarias women's youth team. Four athletes from Lanzarote are traveling with suitcases full of hope.

The ADA Lanzarote CajaCanarias women's youth team travels to La Rioja on Saturday, and will compete on Sunday morning in the Spanish Club Cross Country Championship. The Lanzarote team will be made up of Natalia Rodríguez Rodríguez, Andrea Sampayo Martín, Elisa Guadalupe Guadalupe and Laura Jiménez de León.

The ADA Lanzarote CajaCanarias women's youth team has earned the right to participate in the Spanish Championship, after being proclaimed champions of the Canary Islands Cross Country. The competition took place on February 7 in San Miguel de Abona in Tenerife. The ADA Lanzarote women's youth team obtained first place by teams and earned their right to be in the Spanish Championship.

In addition, Andrea Sampayo Martín in the individual category achieved first place in the Canary Islands Cross Country Championship. The Lanzarote expedition will be led by the athlete José Carlos Hernández, coach of the members of the ADA Lanzarote CajaCanarias women's team.

The competition will take place on the circuit located in the El Mazo Sports Complex in Haro (La Rioja). The LXV Spanish Club Cross Country Championship will have the participation of 2,500 athletes. The event can be followed live through the website of the Royal Spanish Athletics Federation. From 08:45 on Sunday you can follow the Spanish Championship online.
