More than 250 triathletes from 24 nationalities have registered to date for the Ocean Lava Lanzarote Triathlon, which will take place in Puerto del Carmen on the weekend of October 22nd to 23rd. This sporting event of the Ocean Lava Planet world circuit was presented in the Plaza de las Naciones by its promoter, Kenneth Gasque, and its sports director, Juan Antonio Carreño, who were accompanied by public representatives of the Cabildo and the Tías City Council.

Both the councilors of Sports and Tourism, Sergio García and Mame Fernández, as well as the island councilor of Sports, Francisco Javier Aparicio, highlighted the importance of this sporting event to promote sports and tourism in the municipality of Tías and in Lanzarote.

Mame Fernández pointed out that the strategy in which the City Council works links tourism with sports, accessibility and gastronomy. Therefore, "we are always pleased to collaborate with sporting events as relevant as the Ocean Lava," he said. For his part, Sergio García highlighted the level of the event and the athletes, "who will offer the best version of themselves in Puerto del Carmen, a whole show."
