Another victory for CB Lanzarote Puerto del Carmen this season, in this case, in Galician lands against Asmubal Meaño, whom they surpassed by 32 to 46 in a victory that allows them to remain for another day as leaders of the Women's Silver Honor Division of Group A. The Tias team attended without the usual number of players due to problems getting tickets, however, it was not an impediment to carry the game successfully
The locals endured the rhythm imposed by the Lanzarote team until the last third of the first half (12-11, min. 20). At that moment, everything changed. The first advantage came for the visitors at halftime (17-20, min. 30), a difference that in the second half would only grow.
Carolina Ferrera was the most outstanding player for the Galicians with nine goals. In the aurinegra squad, as usual, Fernanda Insfran stood out offensively with twelve goals, well accompanied in that task by Lucía Betancort with seven goals and three more players, each with six goals, Mónica Cabrera, Lucía Olivier and Delyne Leiva.
For the Tias coach, Juanmi Pérez, the match “was prepared quite well during the week because Meaño has a fairly powerful squad, it is a field where they had not lost and the girls came out quite plugged in from the start. In the second half we continued to push and there came a time when there was quite a difference. Very satisfied with the match because Meaño is not a bottom team but a team that is going to fight, it has a good team, with quite a few signings and I liked it, a match of goals where I think we reached practically eighty goals between the two teams, the public enjoyed quite a lot with very fast attacks. Now it's time to prepare for Tuesday's match, which is important, the matches we have left are at home and one in Gran Canaria and that is appreciated when preparing matches and we leave the long trips until January.”
Pérez confirms that “the squad is fine, we are having a good season, well adapted to group work. Despite that comfortable victory, I don't think Meaño is a weak team. Highlight the squad because it has been a long trip”, confirms the Tias coach.
Puerto del Carmen receives the visit in the thirteenth league match, on Tuesday, December 6, at 6:00 p.m., in the Pavilion of the Sports City of Lanzarote, to Quesos Cerrato Bm. Fuentes Carrionas, a team from Palencia that comes from clearly winning against Rocasa Gran Canaria (36-26) and is tenth in the standings with nine points.
