The sixth edition of MSRUN Lanzarote, which will be held next Saturday, October 28, was presented this Thursday at La Recova in Arrecife. The island's capital is scheduling a sports, social and solidarity day for this weekend. The presentation was attended by Yonathan de León, mayor of Arrecife; Jacobo Medina, vice president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote; Marta Betancort, vice president of ALanEM; Enrique Sánchez, director of the CaixaBank Area in Lanzarote; and Juan Jesús Martín, manager of Bodegas El Grifo.
It should be remembered that, in MSRUN Lanzarote, the competition takes a back seat, with modalities ranging from 200 meters to one, four or 8 kilometers, so that anyone who wants to enjoy an afternoon of sports, training, preparation or a family walk can do so while helping to raise funds for ALanEM.
In addition, with the possibility of getting some prize. Marta Betacort, highlighted the "importance of holding this event, which allows the association to obtain resources to enter into projects that can improve the services and assistance of ALanEM users".
The mayor of Arrecife, Yonathan deLeón, stressed that "it is a pride that the capital of the Island continues to be the venue for events that combine sport and solidarity. We will always be supporting this type of initiatives."
At the same time, the capital's first mayor thanked ALanEM and the companies that are supporting this solidarity road for their involvement and commitment to continue celebrating this event.
One of the most important objectives of this event is the visibility of multiple sclerosis. Jacobo Medina commented that "there are currently 150 people with this disease on the island and 47,000 in Spain", which is why it is important that the administrations support the work that is carried out directly from ALanEM and events such as MSRUN.
From 4:10 p.m. on October 28, the starting gun will sound for the four-kilometer circuit, giving way twenty minutes later to the eight kilometers and closing with the last starts of one kilometer and 200 meters at 5:30 p.m. from the Islas Canarias Park in Arrecife, a location that will also serve as the finish line, so the great atmosphere with spectators and companions is assured. At 6:15 p.m. the awards ceremony and the different raffles are scheduled to begin.
In its sixth edition, MSRUN Lanzarote has the support and sponsorship of the Arrecife City Council, through the Department of Sports, and the Cabildo of Lanzarote, as public institutions. The collaboration of the "la Caixa" Foundation through CaixaBank, and Bodegas El Grifo is added.
Closure of the Maritime Avenue
The Arrecife City Council informs that on Saturday the Maritime Avenue of Arrecife, between the Gran Hotel area and the roundabout accessing the cruise ship pier and Marina Lanzarote, where the sculpture in homage to Gregorio Fuentes is located, will be closed to traffic, in both directions, and until 8:00 p.m.
