A test that had about 600 participants

The emblematic esplanade of the Ermita de Los Dolores served as a backdrop for the nearly 600 participants who gathered on Sunday morning to listen to the starting signal of the VII Tinajo You Trail 2022.

The junior of the C.D. Hilera, Moana Kehres, with her spectacular time of 2:38:22.48, managed to hang the gold in the women's category of 31 km; while her teammate, Yonet González, won first place in the men's general after crossing the finish line with a record of 2:28:47.50.

In the 14 km category, the winners were Nuria Muñoz (1:10:39.49), also from C.D. Hilera; and the Danish athlete from Cintamind, Aladdin Bouhania (56:00.93), in the women's and men's categories respectively. Before, Andrea Sampayo (44:52.48) and Jacobo Hernández (35:18.76) had done the same, winning the gold in the 8 km category.

The podium of the 31km route was completed by Nayra Noble (3:03:41.21), from C.D. Map Motor Racing; and María Platero (3:11:43.28), from C.D. Hilera, in the women's category. Aitor Navarro (2:32:17.09), runner of C.D. Los Chic@s del Norte Palgonte Trail, was second; while Sadday Marrero (2:33:12.55), from Ahijadero Trail closed the men's drawer.

The British Ali Hardie (1:12:50.72), from Ministry of Fitness Lanzarote; Sara Rivas (1:15:45.28), from Bahía de Algeciras, completed the women's classification of the 14km route in that order. Jesús Amores (57:14.88), from ADSL; and Aythami Brito (57:52.33) from C.D. Hilera, were second and third in the men's category of the same modality. 

In the 8km, the young Marina Guerra (46:16.36), from Lanzatletas; and Belén Ruffín Vicente (50:55.51), completed the women's podium; and David Atienza (35:38.09), from Runninghemares; and the athlete from Cavelanz, Daniel Casanova (36:25.06), from the men's.

Tinajo once again hosted more than a competition, experiencing a sports festival that brought together numerous fans and fans who enjoyed one of the most unique events on the island with the runners. Jesús Machín, mayor of Tinajo, commented that "for three days they have once again had a great sporting atmosphere in the town, with a lot of movement of people who have visited the municipality and have consumed in local businesses, it has once again been a test with good numbers and we will continue to bet on this test in the years to come".

The organization of the event was in charge of the Department of Sports of Tinajo, Vianney Rodíguez, councilor responsible for this area, wanted to thank "the athletes and private companies that have once again placed their trust in this event." In this edition a record of registered participants has been broken and for Rodríguez that "is the result of the good work done in previous years." Although he clarifies that "we do not want a mass event either because we would lose the essence of the Tinajo Youtrail".

After the awards ceremony, there was a good atmosphere in Mancha Blanca with musical performances that made athletes and companions share a pleasant and enjoyable day. Everyone is already looking forward to repeating the experience in the VII Tinajo Youtrail.
