The Tinajo Wrestling Club and the Unión Sur Yaiza Wrestling Club met at the Emilio Machín de León de Uga Arena to compete in the final of the XXXV La Caja de Canarias Foundation Tournament with an unbeatable appearance in the stands, achieving a complete sell-out on both sides of the arena.

Before the event began, the Lanzarote Canary Wrestling Federation recognized the work carried out in the world of Canary wrestling in the 60s by 'Rafaelín' Cabrera, a wrestler born in Mácher, joined by CL Tao, CL US Yaiza, CL US Tías, the Tías City Council and the Lanzarote Council, receiving a resounding ovation from this spectacular wrestler of the 60s in Lanzarote.

In the first few bouts, the fight was leaning in favor of the team coached by José Martín 'Camurria', although the narrow advantage was going to fade as soon as they started crossing paths with the important wrestlers of Ángel Lago's team. At that moment, the score reflected 7 to 4 in favor of the Tinajo team.

Ángel Suárez, Francis García and Yonay Moreno managed to turn the fight around and strongly boosted the comeback of the southerners, who managed to place themselves 8 to 11, with Marcial Viñoly beginning to mark the path of the epic. The first step he had to face was that of Francis García, reaching the third fight between them with one for each, with the Outstanding A of CL Tinajo winning.

The fight with Francis García 'El Negro' ignited the spirits of the fans. On the one hand, the southern team understood that the decisions that Alejandro Collado was making were not as fair as they believed, while the Tinajo fans took advantage of 'the heat' to motivate Marcial Viñoly more in search of victory.

"If you knock this one down, we win," Jose Martín 'Camurria' told his outstanding A, although with a certain lack of optimism in his face. For its part, the yellow bench was confident in defeating a wrestler who had worn himself out a lot with one of their outstanding B wrestlers.

Despite that tiredness that was noticeable on the part of Marcial Viñoly, the CL Tinajo wrestler had no qualms in giving Yonay Moreno two in a row to make it 9 to 11. With Ángel Suárez he did not have the same luck and, after winning the first and losing the second, he risked to achieve the desired ending and put the fight at 10 to 11.

It was Carlos Moreno's turn, the outstanding B of CL US Yaiza. Alejandro Collado warned him twice for irregular head position, which again ignited the spirits of a fan base that no longer had all of them with them. Amid the protests, Jesús Pérez was expelled and will miss next Friday's Super Cup fight. Marcial Viñoly gave the first to Carlos Moreno and he returned it in the second. The tiredness was clear and notorious on the part of the Tinajo wrestler, but despite this, he gave the second to his rival and put the tie on the scoreboard.

Only Marcial Viñoly himself and Álvaro Torres remained standing, a totally unequal fight where the favorite was Marcial, the same one who needed medical assistance in each of the holds for not being able to stand due to the fatigue and the prevailing humidity inside the southern arena. It was what CL US Yaiza was clinging to, which saw how victory was slipping through its fingers. Álvaro Torres tried to hold on to Marcial Viñoly, but he couldn't. The CL Tinajo wrestler gave him the first and before starting the second, more controversy. Francis García "el negro" was expelled and will also not be able to be in the final of the Super Cup next Friday. The last fight only had the blue color of the Tinajo shirt, which took the final of the La Caja de Canarias Tournament by winning 12 to 11.

Both teams must meet again next Friday at the Ulpiano Rodríguez Pérez Arena in San Bartolomé to fight for the Mamerto Cabrera Super Cup.
