The girls from Magec Tías "Against Gender Violence" traveled on Saturday morning to the capital of Madrid to face Distrito Olímpico, a team that already won in Tías by a tight score (60-62) and that again managed to beat a Magec that is especially resistant to victories away from home.

The match started at 5:00 p.m. local time, in a San Blas pavilion where many people came to enjoy a match full of ups and downs.

Aday Villalba's starting five came onto the court more focused than in other matches played away from home. The locals, for their part, showed from the beginning that they were comfortable on the court. Elena Díaz and María José Bolonio stood out from the first minutes and stopped Magec Tías, who managed to win by one point in the first quarter (20-21).

In the second period, thanks to the direction of Sara Sánchez and the speed of Tamara Montero and Keira Robinson, the girls from Tías managed to stay in the game. Meanwhile, the local team scored easily from the three-point line, preventing Magec Tías from going to halftime with a comfortable advantage.

The good work done by Elena Díaz began to load the Magec Tías' inside players with fouls, so Aday Villalba was forced to rotate between his biggest players. With about nine seconds left, Magec Tías was winning by five points, but a heart-stopping three-pointer from Elena Díaz allowed her team to reach the halfway point of the match with only two points behind.

The break did not sit well with the island players, as Distrito Olímpico anticipated the visiting team's attacks, surprising with their good defenses and demonstrating efficiency in front of the basket. Even so, Tamara Montero shone to keep her team in the match, reaching the last quarter with six points in favor of the local team (58-52).

In the last quarter, the local team felt they had the match decided when they were winning by up to 15 points. However, the visitors managed to get within four points with two minutes remaining. Both teams scored 20 points each in these last ten minutes, which left the score at a final 78-72 in favor of the Madrid team.

Magec Tías "Against Gender Violence" will face the Granada team of Corral y Vargas Clínica Dental next weekend at the Tías Municipal Pavilion. A match that will be played from 8:00 p.m. on Saturday.
