UD Lanzarote had a final this Sunday at noon to keep their chances of fighting for the promotion play-off intact, and the "rojillos" resolved the match played against Las Palmas Atlético with a high grade. The Lanzarote team was clearly superior to a rival that ran out of ideas at the Lanzarote Sports City and was surpassed by the intensity shown by UD Lanzarote from the start.
The match had a frenetic start and UD Lanzarote only needed three minutes to take the lead. The play was starred by Yeray Cruz on the left, winning the back line to put the pass for the arrival of Meca. The first shot was repelled by the goalkeeper and Gonzalo Di Renzo picked up the rebound to send it into the back of the net.
UD Las Palmas Atlético only took five minutes to equalize. A ball lost on the three-quarter line was taken advantage of by Yadam Santana, shooting from the front of the area and beating Alejandro with a ball that slipped close to the base of the post. The "rojillo" team did not fall apart and continued to be superior to their rival.
UD Lanzarote would go ahead again in the 15th minute. After a throw-in, Gonzalo Di Renzo controlled the ball inside the area, turned in the presence of his defender and beat Moha Ramos from below. And just eight minutes later, the locals increased the differences, as Yeray Cruz hooked a rejected ball in front of the area that slipped next to the goalpost.
With a two-goal advantage, UD Lanzarote took a step back and began to suffer without having the ball in their possession. A circumstance that improved during the development of the second half, having greater possession of the ball and not letting the rival get dangerously close to the goal defended by Alejandro.
The sentence would come with five minutes left for the end of the match. Isaac took a cross from the left vertex of the area, put the ball on the head of Gonzalo Di Renzo and the header of the Argentine striker slipped into the goal defended by Moha Ramos. The attacker adds his fourteenth goal of the season and becomes the "pichichi" of the category.
4-1 victory for UD Lanzarote against UD Las Palmas Atlético, three points that allow the "rojillo" team to keep their options intact, placing them four points behind CD Tenerife "B", a team that is currently marking the promotion play-off. Next weekend UD Lanzarote will travel to Gran Canaria to visit Arucas CF.
