The Cabildo of Lanzarote will put the finishing touch to the first edition of the Insular Cup of Canarian Ball of Wood for people over 60 years with a concert by the Canarian singer-songwriter José Vélez.
The famous artist will perform on Saturday, September 24, in the Félix Rodríguez de la Fuente Park, after the awards ceremony of the championship.
The president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, María Dolores Corujo, pointed out that “there is no better way to end this experience dedicated to our elders than through the wonderful voice of a singer who has carried the flag of the Canary Islands around the world.”
“Great artists have set foot on the Island during the last months and such a significant event for the elderly of Lanzarote deserved nothing less than the presence of a singer up to the level of the tournament held”, Dolores Corujo highlighted.
The concert, which is organized in collaboration with the CACT Lanzarote, coordinated by Benjamín Perdomo, will begin at 7:00 p.m., after the awards ceremony. 500 seats will be placed and participants in the competition will have priority.
