Futsal, in mourning for the sudden death of Andrés Cejas

The president of Tahíche Servivend, who founded the club in 1989 and has been in charge ever since, passed away on Thursday afternoon.

Sport in general and futsal in particular are in mourning for the sudden death on Thursday afternoon of Andrés Cejas, president of Tahíche Servivend. A person who had been linked to the world of futsal in Lanzarote for more than three decades, being an emblem of this sport not only in Lanzarote but throughout the Canary Islands, according to Lanzarote Deportiva. 

This same Thursday morning, Andrés Cejas was preparing with one of his usual collaborators the trip of the senior team to Gran Canaria, to play on Saturday afternoon the match against Maspasala Sol de Europa. It was in the afternoon when the tragic news became known.

Tahíche Servivend was founded in 1989 and since then Andrés Cejas has been at the head of the presidency of the club, fighting to promote futsal on the island of Lanzarote. In addition, he has been the organizer of the traditional summer futsal tournaments in Tahíche.
