The three municipalities in Spain where there is the greatest interest in buying a house are the city of Madrid, followed by Valencia and Zaragoza, according to data provided by the real estate portal idealista.com.
Next, the Valencian town of Torrent, followed by the two Canary Island capitals: Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, the fifth municipality in the country with the highest demand, and Santa Cruz de Tenerife in sixth place.
Completing the table of the ten most demanded municipalities in the country: Barcelona, Gijón, Seville and A Coruña.
The novelty of this latest classification of relative demand in the housing sales market prepared by idealista/data is that provincial capitals are being reinforced as areas that are generating greater interest in acquiring a property.
The confirmation that provincial capitals are becoming established among the most demanded locations to buy is seen, above all, in this second tier.
If in the ranking of the first quarter, only two capitals stood out between the eleventh and twentieth positions of the classification, now there are four cities, such as Santander (12), Vitoria (14), Valladolid (15) and Palma (17). Another six capitals accompany them up to position 30: they are Almería (22), Tarragona (24), Oviedo (25), Bilbao (26), Alicante (27) and San Sebastián (28).
In total, 18 provincial capitals are among the first 30 positions on the list. Along with them, a good number of localities in the province of Barcelona, such as Santa Coloma de Gramenet (11), Hospitalet de Llobregat (13), Badalona (16), Cornellà (18), Sant Cugat del Vallès (20) or Vilanova i la Geltrú (29); along with Reus (19), in Tarragona.
Completing the 'top 30', the Valencian town of Gandía (21), the Sevillian town of Dos Hermanas (23) and the Canary Island town of San Bartolomé de Tirajana (30), on the island of Gran Canaria.
