The ordeal of the father who seeks to recover his daughter who disappeared in Lanzarote: "The girl is in danger"

Apparently, the child's mother fled with her to travel through several Asian countries without the father's permission and without having attended a court summons that was scheduled for last March in the Arrecife Courts.

The father of Lily Sofía Fernández, who disappeared with her mother Jasmine Raeymaekers since February 23, 2025 in Lanzarote, has told La Voz some more details about the disappearance of his three-year-old daughter with her mother, his ex-partner.

After the couple's separation in mid-2024, he says that they made a regulatory agreement that the mother signed in which it was agreed that the mother would have custody but that the father could see the girl three days a week and she could spend a weekend with each parent. However, he says that when they went to ratify it in court, "the obstacles began because she wanted to leave Lanzarote because she didn't want to be here and travel all over the world raising the girl all over the world."

Therefore, the father says that he "wanted to make sure he had an agreement but we couldn't ratify it because her document didn't arrive." In addition, he assures that the mother "made up that she had cancer and that she had to go to Belgium, her native country, for treatment, so she left in October 2024 and told me that she would return in January of this year." According to him, she sent him "a false document made with artificial intelligence" so that he would authorize her to leave with the girl. "I realized that it was not an original paper and I decided to file a complaint because I was not going to authorize that trip and I told her that if she did not send me an official certificate made by a doctor, I would not give the go-ahead," he continues.

The mother finally did not send him any official document proving her alleged illness and "took a quick flight and left", so "he didn't have time to report her", he declares. Despite her departure from the country, the girl's father and his lawyer decided to wait for her to return from the trip so as not to run the risk of her not returning. In January, she returned and the father sued her for "the lie about cancer", so he asked for full custody of the girl for him, withdrawal of the passport and precautionary measures so that his ex-partner could not leave Spanish territory.

In addition, during the alleged "treatment for the cancer she suffered", the woman traveled with her daughter through several Asian countries.

After the lawsuit, Jasmine Raeymaekers received a summons to testify on March 5 in the Court of Arrecife, but she left the island three days before. "I went to the trial alone and the judges decided to ratify that agreement we had with the precautionary measures we requested, but she had already left," he says.

Current whereabouts of mother and daughter

According to the father, both are in Goa, India, and points out that "we know that she is the one who has the girl." In addition, during trips to different countries, "the girl contracted an intestinal parasite because she does not have the mandatory vaccines when traveling to these tropical countries." "The girl is in danger with that woman," he says.

On the other hand, the father assures that "there are complaints from nannies who have been hired in these places to take care of the girl and have not been paid." In fact, the mother has published several ads on social networks where she is looking for people who can act as a nanny for hours. She also points out that the girl's mother "does not relate the girl to other children and does not want to send her to school."

Faced with this situation, the father filed a complaint with the Civil Guard for the disappearance of his daughter and the association SOS Desaparecidos has published this possible parental abduction.
