The National Police have arrested three people in the municipality of Teguise and Tías for allegedly exploiting workers in inhumane conditions.
The operational development took place on June 10, and was carried out with the collaboration of the Labor and Social Security Inspection (ITSS) of Las Palmas.
During an initial inspection, the officers found one person living in an unsanitary room, without minimum hygiene conditions.
Subsequently, another center belonging to the same company was inspected, confirming that employees were subjected to abusive work hours and without labor rights.
The investigation concluded with the arrest of three individuals aged 66, 39, and 44 for a crime against workers' rights and crimes against moral integrity, who acted as administrators of a company dedicated to the production of snacks and appetizers.
The rescued victims are under the care of social services and awaiting placement in a shelter in Lanzarote (EMERLAN).
Once the police proceedings were completed, the detainees were made available to the competent judicial authority.
