The clashes between CL Tao and CL Unión Sur Yaiza have become a classic this season and on Wednesday night they met again in the final of the thirtieth edition of the Copa La Caja de Canarias. The southerners had a thorn in their side since the final of the Isla de Lanzarote Tournament and were able to remove it in the final of the Copa La Caja de Canarias. A sensational performance by the entire team allowed CL Unión Sur Yaiza to win the title of champion of the Copa La Caja de Canarias. Ángel Lago's pupils won by 10 to 12 in the final played at the Terrero Municipal de Tinajo.
From the beginning of the clash, CL Unión Sur Yaiza took the lead on the scoreboard thanks to the good performance of its first chairs. Alejandro Umpiérrez gave Cristo Betancort two in a row and Gabriel Martín tied for CL Tao by giving Homero de la Cruz two in a row. Josué Cedrés gave CL Unión Sur Yaiza a golden point by eliminating Martín Cano, in a clash that had to be resolved in the third grapple. One of the keys of the night was in the grapple between Mario Franquiz and Andrés Carmelo Guillén. The first grapple between them ended in separate and in the second they were mutually eliminated. And the final touch to the final was given by Marcial Viñoly by eliminating Cristo Hernández fight to fight.

Aitor Lorenzo (CL Tinajo) received the trophy for the highest tumbler of the competition and Francis García (CL San Bartolomé) was chosen as the most spectacular wrestler of the Cup.
