The clashes between CL Tao and CL Unión Sur Yaiza have become a classic this season and on Wednesday night they met again in the final of the thirtieth edition of the Copa La Caja de Canarias. The southerners had a thorn in their side since the final of the Isla de Lanzarote Tournament and were able to remove it in the final of the Copa La Caja de Canarias. A sensational performance by the entire team allowed CL Unión Sur Yaiza to win the title of champion of the Copa La Caja de Canarias. Ángel Lago's pupils won by 10 to 12 in the final played at the Terrero Municipal de Tinajo.
From the beginning of the clash, CL Unión Sur Yaiza took the lead on the scoreboard thanks to the good performance of its first chairs. Alejandro Umpiérrez gave Cristo Betancort two in a row and Gabriel Martín tied for CL Tao by giving Homero de la Cruz two in a row. Fabio Martín, Alejandro Umpiérrez and José Antonio Elvira, were in charge of putting the 1-4 in favor of Yaiza. They eliminated Daniel López, Miguel Ángel Betancort and Gabriel Martín, respectively.

Josué Cedrés and Francis García, were in charge of putting CL Unión Sur Yaiza with a two-point advantage on the scoreboard. Josué Cedrés fell in the first grapple against Acaymo Bonilla, with the Yaiza wrestler coming back to score the victory in the second and third grapple. For his part, Francis García gave Alexander Barrios two in a row. Cristo Hernández and Mario Franquiz, were in charge of returning the equality to the scoreboard. Cristo Hernández got rid of Jonathan Acosta, after a first grapple that ended in separate and the second was scored by the Tao wrestler. And Mario Franquiz gave Francis García two in a row.
Josué Cedrés gave CL Unión Sur Yaiza a golden point by eliminating Martín Cano, in a clash that had to be resolved in the third grapple. One of the keys of the night was in the grapple between Mario Franquiz and Andrés Carmelo Guillén. The first grapple between them ended in separate and in the second they were mutually eliminated. And the final touch to the final was given by Marcial Viñoly by eliminating Cristo Hernández fight to fight.
Triumph of CL Unión Sur Yaiza by 10 to 12 against CL Tao in the grand final of the Copa La Caja de Canarias de Lucha Canaria and which was witnessed by more than a thousand fans in the Terrero Municipal de Tinajo. At the end of the fight, the trophies of the XXX Copa La Caja de Canarias were awarded, an event that was presided over by Migdalia Machín, Minister of Sports of the Cabildo de Lanzarote and José Hernández, president of the Lanzarote Federation of Lucha Canaria. Aitor Lorenzo (CL Tinajo) received the trophy for the highest tumbler of the competition and Francis García (CL San Bartolomé) was chosen as the most spectacular wrestler of the Cup.
