CB Lanzarote Puerto del Carmen added an important victory on Saturday night in their visit to HBC´74 Ien Avia, a complicated court and against Camargo who never gave up.
The Tiñoseras took the initiative during a good part of the match, although seeing how the Cantabrians balanced the match in the final minutes. Phase in which CB Puerto del Carmen drew on experience to add the two points that were at stake and win by 26 to 29.
HBC´74 Ien Avia scored the first two goals of the match, although little by little CB Lanzarote Puerto del Carmen got into the match. Suely Pinto, from the wing, tied the score (3-3), when only five minutes of the match had been played. The first push from the Tiñoseras allowed them to achieve a 0-4 partial and make it 4-8.
The Camargo coach requested a time-out to stop the dynamics of the Lanzarote team. The Cantabrians reacted by equaling the match with a partial of 4 to 0, with Famara Fernández breaking the partial of the locals. HBC´74 Ien Avia did not stop in its effort to please its fans, taking the lead with four minutes left for the break (14-13).
The first part of the match concluded with a partial of 0 to 3 in favor of CB Lanzarote Puerto del Carmen. The goals from Famara Fernández, Rosa Álvarez and Grethe Damora, made it 14 to 16 with which the first 30 minutes of the match came to an end.
Throughout the second half, CB Lanzarote Puerto del Carmen maintained the initiative on the scoreboard, having a rent of three or four goals during many phases of the match. Camargo was not going to throw in the towel and continued fighting to balance the scoreboard. The Cantabrians took advantage of an exclusion of Famara Fernández to make it 23 to 23 on the scoreboard.
CB Puerto del Carmen reacted with goals from pivot Kenia Hernández and Famara Fernández, to once again achieve a two-goal rent. An advantage that increased to three goals, when Rosa Álvarez scored, and there were only two minutes left for the end of the match.
Hard-fought victory for CB Puerto del Carmen against HBC´74 Ien Avia by 26 to 29, adding two points that puts the Lanzarote team at the top of the standings. Logroño Sporting La Rioja fell on the court of Beti-Onak, which leaves Puerto del Carmen as leader of Group B of the Women's Silver Division of Handball. Next match they receive Atlántico Pereda, match that will be played on Saturday at 6:00 p.m. in the Municipal Pavilion of Tías.
