Having passed matchday 16 on the schedule, CB Lanzarote Puerto del Carmen continues to look like a well-oiled winning machine. This Saturday they achieved a new victory against Rubensa Balonmano Porriño (30-18) in a match corresponding to Group A of the Women's Silver Honor Division played at the Sports City Pavilion of Lanzarote.
The match, as usual for the Tiñosero team, has not had much history from the beginning. Without excessive fanfare, Juanmi Pérez's players achieved the first distances on the scoreboard from the moment the match started and, gradually and patiently, increased them during the rest of the match. They reached halftime with a comfortable cushion of two or three goals and, although the Galicians did not say goodbye to the match at any time, Abel Estévez's forces reached the 40th minute of the match (16-12). With the match already broken, the difference was increasing and served as the perfect excuse to give minutes again to the Tiñoseras youth players until the end of the match.
Marta Groba was the top scorer among the Galicians with eight goals. In the ranks of Tiñoseras, their top scorer Fernanda Insfran was back at it again, also scoring eight goals in a very choral match for the aurinegras, as up to thirteen players managed to score a goal.
With ten matchdays remaining, Juanmi Pérez's team remains at the top of the group with 30 points, followed by AD Carballal Balonmano, Grupo CHR Hand Vall Valladolid and Balonmano Gijón, a trio chasing the Tiñoseras, with 21 points.
Puerto del Carmen visits UB Lavadores Vigo on the seventeenth matchday of the league, on Saturday, January 28, starting at 6:00 p.m. (local time), a team that is second to last after winning at Rocasa's home (25-26) and that in the first round of the competition lost to the Tiñoseras (27-22).
