CB Lanzarote Puerto del Carmen debuts at home with a victory against Siero

First league match at the Tías Municipal Pavilion for the conejeras, marked by the postponement at the start due to problems with the air transport of Siero, which served to give minutes to the less usual players on the Tiñosero bench and to carry out tests for future matches.

Undisputed superiority of the locals in the first half and, although the visitors slightly approached the score in the last third of the match, at no time was the victory of the Tiñoseras in danger.

Miguel Ángel Lemes moved the bench more than usual, reaching halftime with a six-goal advantage (17-11), then observing with some concern how Siero approached the score, thanks to several failed local counterattacks and missing a bit more defensive toughness.

In the last minutes, despite some arbitration decisions heavily criticized by the stands and the local bench, the conejero team knew how to hold its own, strengthening the goal with the Chilean Madeleine Noelia Cortez, who did not allow the visiting team to jeopardize the victory of the Canarians.

The most successful local players in front of the goal were Keyla Hernández and Mary Sánchez, with six goals each, well accompanied by Luci Betancort with four goals. In Siero Deportivo, the most successful was Alba Fernández with six goals.

The most positive side of the day for Miguel Ángel Lemes' warriors is the participation of the less usual players and the appearance of Atte Morales in the seven-meter throws, waiting to be fully discharged to join the team, as is Vesi Nenkova.

The third league match will leave us with the first conejero derby of the season, with the visit of CB Lanzarote Puerto del Carmen to the Titerroy Municipal Pavilion in Arrecife next Saturday, September 28th at 7:30 p.m., to face Balonmano San José Obrero Femenino.
