The Plaza de Los Dolores de Mancha Blanca witnessed the start and finish of the third edition of the Tinajo YouTrail, a race in which Alejandro Mayor and Gloria Cuellar were crowned as winners of the queen modality.

Nearly 400 runners gathered at the Tinajo YouTrail, with the aim of enjoying a race that passes through the most remote and beautiful trails and landscapes of the municipality and that is consolidated in the calendar of mountain races of Lanzarote and the Canary Islands

The first start was the 31 kilometers, the longest and most complicated race of the three that left on Sunday morning from the square where the patron saint of the island rests. Then it was the turn of the 14-kilometer race, scoring for the Tinajo Popular Race Cup, and finally the 7.5-kilometer race, ideal for beginners but where athletes with an explosive speed point also gathered.

Adrián Carneiro and Elisabeth Nilsson, winners of 7.5 kilometers

The Galician Adrián Carneiro was the fastest runner in the 7.5-kilometer race, taking a time of 30 minutes and 38 seconds to complete the course, followed by a classic in the Lanzarote races, Alcorac Niz, who entered in 31'46'' and the young Saúl Rodríguez, from Lanzatletas, with a total time of 32'33'' and who until the end fought for that position with Iván Molinero, from CD Hilera.

On the part of the girls, the fastest was the Swedish Elisabeth Nilsson, taking 41'03'' to complete the 7.5 kilometers, followed by the Finnish Johanna Vasara, who last year was third in the 14-kilometer modality. Johanna finished with a time of 41'20'' and taking 2'17'' to Yurena Gutierrez, third classified of the modality.

Highlight in the 7.5-kilometer race the participation of Yerai Villalba de León, who had a great day. Not only was it his birthday but, thanks to the Tinajo City Council and Adislan, he was able to fulfill his dream of doing a trail in the company of several volunteers from CD Azarug Tinajo who helped him with a joelette to materialize it, entering the finish line to the clamor of the fans who were waiting in Mancha Blanca.

Víctor Manuel González and Sandra Sánchez led the 14 kilometers

In the 14-kilometer race the dominator was Victor Manuel González, from Todo por un sueño. The pucelano, resident in Lanzarote and who the day before had won a swimming crossing in Arrecife, completed the course in a time of 1:02'12'', taking only 27'' of advantage to the second classified, David Expósito, from Ocean Lava Lanzarote. The podium was completed by the Lanzarote Rubén Callero, 58'' from the third classified.

Regarding the females, the first was Sandra Sánchez, from Todo por un sueño, with a time of 1:16'16'', which took almost two minutes of difference (1'55'') to the German Lena-Lotte Windler, who thus repeats the position of last year in the same modality. The third place was for the Hungarian, based in Lanzarote, Ildiko Biró, who stopped the clock in 1:18'58''.

Alejandro Mayor and Gloria Cuellar, winners in the queen modality

One of the most expectation raised was the queen race, the 31 kilometers where not only the participants found the longest route, but also the most complete, with greater changing surfaces and with the most picturesque scenarios of the municipality.

The Gran Canaria Alejandro Mayor came with the vitola of favorite, after the overwhelming victory of last year, and again showed that he is still the rival to beat. The one from Gáldar completed the course in 2:20'32'' without giving options to his rivals.

The majorero Domingo León tried to follow the rhythm of the Gran Canaria, but the athlete of the Córpore Sano team could not reach him entering almost a quarter of an hour from the winner, with a total of 2:35'21''. The third classified was the palmero, although resident in Fuerteventura, Andrés Santana, of the Corpore Sano, who stopped the clock in 2:36'16''.

The women's race had as main claim Belinda Guillén, tinajera and champion of the race last year. However, it was the pacense resident on the island Gloria Cuéllar who prevailed over all her rivals. The one from Villafranca de Los Barros took 3:16'05'' to complete the course, while Belinda Guillén, second classified, did it in 3:21'52''. Third was the Lanzarote Lilia Iris Olafson, of the Haría Trail Team, with a total of 3:39'08''.

Delivery of trophies and concerts by Inerxia and Salvapantallas

After the race and the arrival of all the people who were in contention, took place the delivery of trophies, enlivened, both in the previous and during the whole race, by Jaime García who took the opportunity to dance with the public and with the athletes, performing games while the schedule of giving the vitolas arrived.

Once the winners received their prize, the point and end was put to the III Tinajo YouTrail with the concert of Inerxia and Salvapantallas, thus putting the icing on the edition with more registered of all the small, but intense, history of the race.
