This Saturday concludes the first phase of the Silver Division Futsal league championship. Lanzarote Tías Yaiza plays against Jumilla Montesinos for their qualification for the promotion phase. A victory mathematically qualifies them as fifth. A defeat or a draw makes them dependent on other results.
The Lanzarote Tías Yaiza expedition traveled to Murcia on Friday morning with enthusiasm as their banner. The members of the Lanzarote team are aware of how much is at stake in this afternoon's match and have left no loose ends.
The Lanzarote Tías Yaiza squad has seriously prepared for the match against Jumilla Montesinos. They face the last-placed team in the South group, but this does not imply any kind of confidence in the Lanzarote squad. They do not trust their rival, and from the first minute, they will go all out in search of the three points at stake.
Julio Mougán has been able to count on the entire squad throughout the week and for the first time this season had to make two cuts. Lanzarote Tías Yaiza's rival, has only achieved two victories and one draw in their home matches, suffering six defeats at the Jumilla Municipal Sports Center.
Lanzarote Tías Yaiza could be fine with a draw or even a defeat. It would depend on third-party results, since a stumble by Clipeus Nazareno or Elecnor Ibi would directly qualify them. The Lanzarote team does not want to depend on third-party results, they will seek victory and secure fifth place in their group.
Promotion Phase
Once the first phase of the competition is over, the 12 qualified teams will be distributed into two groups of six teams each. Group Par will be composed of the 2nd, 4th, and 6th classified from the North group and the 1st, 3rd, and 5th classified from the South group. In case of victory, Lanzarote Tías Yaiza will be placed in the Par group.
For its part, the Impar group will be composed of the 2nd, 4th, and 6th classified from the South group and the 1st, 3rd, and 5th classified from the North group. The competition system will be a double round-robin league, with a total of 10 matchdays.
The results obtained in the first phase of the competition will be taken into account and the top three classified teams from each group will have a slight advantage. In this way, the first classified starts the second phase with three points, the second classified will have two points, and the third classified will have one point. The rest of the teams will start the second phase with zero points in their locker.
The first classified of each of the promotion phase groups will be promoted to the Honor Division.
