In Lanzarote, whoever is bored is because they want to be. We don't lack anything, the politicians, one of the main problems of this society, according to the latest surveys, don't give us a break, we see how in the Cabildo, they argue even about what they agree on: giving a subsidy to Haiti!. And all this, adorned with authentic bar debates, according to them, when the president is treated as a bartender, (he was to blame, for claiming such a name), we assume, by deduction, that he is in a bar, and that the rest of the councilors, for the same reason, will be drunks, more than anything, for being in the bar all day, sorry, in the Cabildo.

The political class, or rather, the politicians in public institutions, who have been governing, sometimes in power and others in the opposition, have gotten a taste for spending all day arguing among themselves, in discussions that are of little interest to the people, or at least to me, who also pays taxes, so that they all work as God commands and stop so much nonsense and wasting time, in whether you are more of a rogue than me, or at least, more of a moocher than the one next to you.

If anyone really knows of any illegality of the opponent, let them put it in court and stop accusing each other every morning, in the media, that if I'm going to put you in court, that if I'm going to paper you and then the truth is that it all stays in words and morning nonsense. No complaints, no machanga milk, but they seem to get along like cats and dogs, and yet, we see every day that nothing ever happens, it gives the impression that no one really wants to denounce the other, it seems that everyone has something to hide, or that everyone is really honest and the suspicious ones are us.

It is difficult for me to remember any of them, who instead of always being with the same old song, has started working, with better or worse success, that is another story, but at least, that he is seen with attitude, enthusiasm, decision, in short, damn it, with a desire to work! That it is not only about setting the salary, but also earning it, I don't care if they charge well, without overdoing it, what I demand is that they deserve it.

Because let's see, what is the first thing a mayor does in Arrecife, as soon as he takes office? Well yes, exactly!, visit the neighborhoods and take a trip of picón in the lots, and then? Well, say that he is going to solve the issue of La Rocar, tear down the warehouses and build on the plot, the best in the world, worldwide.

And the president of the Cabildo? The same thing, always the same: we are going to fix the Zonzamas landfill, open the cheese factory and solve the problem of the Soo corrals.

I don't understand what mania they have when they come to office, they all repeat the same story, it doesn't matter if they are left-wing, right-wing, nationalist or from the mother who bore them. Always the same.

Sometimes, I think they are pulling our leg, less and less for me, not because I am smarter than the others, but because I have less hair left. I think they think that with a tap on our backs and telling us the same nonsense, one after another, we are happy and we are going to laugh at their jokes, but the truth is that the neighbor is so tired of these who think that the only smart ones are them and the rest of us are fools, that what we really do is laugh so as not to cry and put on a brave face.

If at least, most of the politicians who are sitting in the plenary of the city council or cabildo, know as much or better than the neighbor the problems that the municipality or the island has, why do they come every time they grab the chair, to take a walk through the neighborhoods, yes, accompanied by the inseparable television camera and asking the neighbors, what are the problems of the neighborhood. But damn it! if you've been living off the budget for 20 years. How is it that you still don't know what the problems of the neighborhoods are? Just for asking that kind of question, you should be asked to resign.

In politics, there are two times: one for dreams, when electoral programs are made, and another for working, when one is elected to public office, although as they behave, it seems that they have confused the times. They only work when there is an election campaign and they dream when they come to office, although in this case, the dream is not illusion, it is simply because they spend all their time sleeping.
