The San Bartolomé City Council celebrates the ruling issued by the Administrative Litigation Court No. 3 of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, which upholds the appeal filed by the municipal institution and declares null and void the resolution of the Cabildo of Lanzarote by which the urban intervention project on Constitución street in the municipality of San Bartolomé was excluded from funding, charged to the Canary Islands Development Fund (FDCAN).
The judicial resolution considers that the Cabildo of Lanzarote violated procedural guarantees by not granting a hearing to the City Council before deciding which projects would be included as beneficiaries of the funds, thus preventing the municipality from defending its interests and presenting its proposals.
The mayor of San Bartolomé, Isidro Pérez, has positively assessed this ruling because "the sentence confirms that the City Council was right to report that we had been left out without being heard. We defend our municipality's right to participate on equal terms in the planning and distribution of funds that are essential for improving our neighborhoods and the quality of life of our residents”.
In this regard, Pérez emphasized that the government team will continue working so that the Constitution Street project, which is key to the modernization of the urban environment and the economic revitalization of the area, can become a reality.
