The Kanaryo TITEROYGAKAT Social Organization requests the European Parliament and the United Nations to carry out maritime control over the waters of Western Sahara - Canarian-Saharan Bank - based on the Fisheries Agreement recently signed between the E.U. and Morocco, since we have evidence that European ships are going to fish in those waters, and also paying licenses to Morocco for fishing in waters that are under Spanish Administration and responsibility.
The agreement signed between the E.U. and Morocco, contemplates fishing in Moroccan sovereign waters, up to the southern limit in latitude 27º40'N. Therefore, what has appeared in the media, at least in the Canary Islands, is not true, since they talk about fishing in the Canarian-Saharan bank, since these waters are under the responsibility of Spain, therefore, we will be able to fish freely in them without having to pay Morocco for it, likewise, we would have to demand responsibilities from Morocco for fishing in an area that is not under its sovereignty and also charging licenses for it. In any case, Spain is the Administrator and Morocco is the Usurping force of Occupation of Western Sahara. We are not saying this, the European Parliament and the Resolutions of the United Nations ratify it.
When we allegedly affirm that the Canary Islands ships will fish in the Canarian-Saharan bank, that is, south of the parallel 27º40'N, it is for obvious reasons, which are none other than that we have always fished in that area, we have suffered attacks even with deaths, seizures and humiliations by the Moroccan military authorities, and yet Spain has not asserted the Law. From what we observe, the European Union intends to do the same, by paying fishing fees to Morocco on its waters, when the tremendous reality is that most of the fleet possibly fished in the waters of the Sahara, as some Canary Islands fishing officials have made known in the press.
Therefore,
WE DEMAND the United Nations, the European Parliament and the Spanish Government to control the waters of the Canarian-Saharan bank, that is, from the parallel 27º40'N to the border with Mauritania, to prevent Moroccan, European, etc. ships from fishing and plundering this fishing ground, frontally attacking the rights of the Saharawi people.
In order for International Law to prevail, we will request support for our proposal in all embassies.
