135 days after 20D, Spain, or rather, the Spanish people, are back to square one. 135 days have passed from the beginning of the legislature until we are once again called to new elections. 135 days lost, or not so much, in which all the citizens of Spain have been able to draw several clear conclusions, and one of them is to see the true face, the hidden one, of those who stood as saviors of the homeland and who, deep down, only aspire to occupy government seats with an action program where the rights of citizens have been a note on the last page.
Having seen the circus that some parties have turned politics and the activity of the Congress of Deputies into in recent months, today we are once again facing an electoral campaign with which I want to remind the majority of our citizens, in a constructive way, but without hesitation, that the Popular Party's management to govern Spain continues to be a model of stable government success, solvent before the world's economies, of progress and social welfare. We represent the useful vote, we represent those who refuse to make pacts with political forces that dismember Spain, we represent responsibility and efficiency.
In this new electoral call, we are playing for it again. But it is not necessary for citizens to believe that they are facing a Russian roulette. We are the only political party that radically opposes playing Russian roulette with Spain and with the interests of Spaniards.
And you will ask, what are our guarantees? What are those good cards? Are the Popular Party people bluffing? Well, none of that. There are plenty of reasons to trust the Popular Party.
A conviction based on ample reasons, since the PP government has worked for the creation of employment, for the reduction of taxes, favoring and strengthening growth for all and among all.
Because we have in our record the hard work of having emerged from one of the worst crises we have suffered, creating one million jobs in two years and, in turn, thanks to the effort of all citizens, together we have been able to maintain the corresponding aid to social policies and because we have the commitment to continue on the path of recovery with new reforms and improvements.
And we have achieved this because in the Popular Party we have had the best, with women and men who have formed a government of Spain from wisdom, experience and training.
I am very concerned that our country, which is in a much better situation than we were in 2011, but still vulnerable, is governed by people who lack political experience. It is undeniable that experience is vital to manage a project as important as Spain.
We have a project for the present and the future, a feasible project based on data and because we are in a position to be able to say that in 2019 we will reach 20 million Spaniards with employment.
We are backed by the experience of an efficient, honest government, made up of people who know very closely the sufferings that citizens have had to endure to begin to see the fruits of the adjustments.
Again, we are going to fight to have the support of the majority of Spaniards on June 26. To this end, we are once again making available the team of men and women who are most prepared and solvent to consolidate the undeniable economic growth that we have achieved in these last four years.
We choose to carry out a positive campaign, a campaign where we offer solutions to problems and that this does not mean having to reach agreements with threatening or radical forces.
We are a winning bet, and the rest of the parties are aware that they have the worst cards for the 26J.
Astrid Pérez Batista, president of the Popular Party of Lanzarote and regional deputy.
