Tourism of the Canary Islands has activated a special action in its video game Find the Seasouls to raise awareness about the responsible use of water. It is an interactive and pedagogical experience on the occasion of World Water Day, in which players of the well-known Roblox platform are proposed to repair broken fountains on the islands and discover exclusive content.

With this initiative, the objective of the Ministry of Tourism and Employment of the Government of the Canary Islands is to raise awareness about the importance of making responsible use of this essential resource through an innovative and participatory proposal aimed at the youngest audience.

This action developed in the universe of ‘Find the Seasouls’ introduces a special mechanic in which the island fountains appear damaged and wasting water, which conveys a direct sustainability message: water is wasted and it must be avoided.

The experience begins with the interaction of the characters Gara and Jonay next to the mythical fountain of the Chorros de Epina, in La Gomera. At the beginning of the event, they hand the player a wrench to repair the fountains, while explaining the mechanics and indicating the importance of not wasting water.

Every day a new fountain breaks and users must find it and repair it. When they do, the linked Seasoul appears. In total, the action incorporates 16 exclusive Seasouls distributed across all islands, two for each of them, in addition to two unique digital objects (UGC) designed specifically for this event, which reinforces the active participation of the player community.

Spanish leader in visits

From late 2024, ‘Find the Seasouls’ proposes an immersive experience in the Canary archipelago, allowing users to digitally explore the islands while discovering 160 creatures inspired by local marine fauna. The initiative combines entertainment, learning, and environmental outreach, with an approach specially designed to connect with new generations through innovative digital formats.

In 2025, this video game launched by the public company Turismo de Islas Canarias became the Spanish experience with the most visits in the history of the well-known Roblox platform, reaching four million and tripling the second, which obtained 1.2 million. In addition, ‘Find the Seasouls’ reached 2.3 million unique users and registered 95% positive reviews thanks to the seasonal update strategy.

During the year-end activation, the video game consolidated globally as the sixth experience by number of simultaneous players, competing at the same level as franchises like SpongeBob or Barbie, which represents a great milestone since the platform has more than 40 million games.
