Storm Therese has left on the afternoon of this Monday, March 23 significant incidents in the south of Lanzarote, especially in the Playa Blanca area. After about an hour and a half of intense rainfall in Pechiguera, there have been registered floods in garages and various alerts for water pumping in several residential complexes.

According to the Lanzarote Emergency Consortium, the calls have concentrated in urbanizations such as Residencial La Carabela and Residencial Urbanización Faro Pechiguera, where the teams have had to intervene to remove accumulated water.

Furthermore, residents of the area have reported to La Voz situations of complication in mobility. One of them pointed out that the road between the Rubicón Palace Hotel and the Pechiguera Lighthouse has been cut off, with the presence of Police and Firefighters working at the scene.

It should be remembered that the island is under yellow alert for rain, which has increased the risk of this type of incidents, especially in low-lying areas and urbanizations near the coast. The authorities recommend exercising extreme caution and avoiding unnecessary travel while the rainfall persists.
