The City Council presided over by Óscar Noda made available to the public this Thursday three new vehicles to reinforce the fleet of the Local Police of Yaiza, thus, the southern president, in the company of the Councilor for Citizen Security and Civil Protection, Beatriz Vázquez, and in the presence of the chief officer of the Local Police, Vladimir Guadalupe, delivered to the municipal Corps two patrol cars with a screen and a report van.
The mayor highlights that “we invested 130,000 euros from the municipal budget to provide our Local Police with three vehicles with communication equipment and all patrol material. The report van helps us increase alcohol and drug controls, among other services, and the two cars with a screen allow the transfer of detainees with greater security, in addition to reinforcing the police presence on the street.”
The Administration also provides the Local Police with a radar for speed controls, communications equipment and two drones, one of them submersible and the other with great features, with more than 50 minutes of flight autonomy and thermal vision, for preventive services and to facilitate the search and location of people at sea and on land, and a canine unit. As a result of the training program promoted by the City Council, the Local Police of Yaiza already has five agents certified as pilots to fly drones.
Another piece of news revealed by the mayor of Yaiza has to do with the acquisition of one hundred surveillance cameras for different locations in the municipality. “We have the file under audit and we will put out to tender the supply and installation of this material that will help the work carried out by the Local Police.” Regarding the staff, the mayor notes that “we currently have thirty-one agents with the forecast of incorporating four more during the month of November.”
