November data from the Canarian Employment Observatory shows that Yaiza leads the creation and maintenance of employment in Lanzarote, being the municipality with the lowest number of unemployed among the five most populated on the island, with 555 people out of the total of 7,461 unemployed registered in Lanzarote as a whole, also confirming that Yaiza is one of the municipalities in the Canary Islands with the lowest rate of job seekers.

According to its specific weight and contribution to the island's economy and its social development, the mayor, Óscar Noda, has been demanding "greater investment from the Government of the Canary Islands in the municipality, especially in educational and social infrastructure projects", as the City Council stated in the four partial amendments presented on November 25 to the General Budgets of the Autonomous Community of the Canary Islands, worth 5.7 million euros.

The Parliament of the Canary Islands, through its General Secretariat, has confirmed to the City Council the admission for processing of its amendments and the transfer of the same to all political groups represented in the Regional Chamber.

Yaiza now awaits the defense of the amendments by the parliamentarians of Lanzarote, of all political colors, so that they are considered in the final text of the Budgets that is expected to be approved on December 17.

Yaiza requests 2.5 million euros for the construction of the Playa Blanca Library; 3 million for the construction of the Family Respite Center; in addition to 150,000 euros for drafting the project for the IES Playa Blanca and 100,000 euros more to complement the item of 100,000 euros allocated in the regional accounts to drafting the project to expand the health center in the southern tourist town. It should be remembered that the City Council already has the basic project for the Family Respite Center and has put out to tender the execution project to carry out the construction works of the Playa Blanca Library.
