The Yaiza City Council has already started the installation of all the decorative material "that will embellish the municipality during the next Christmas and Kings season." From the Consistory they point out that the intention is to offer "a friendlier face to the different locations and at the same time favor the economic activity of the open commercial areas."
"The most important thing about Christmas is the atmosphere of harmony enriched by family and friends gatherings, but we want to give a touch of joy to public spaces to fuel hope after very sad moments due to the pandemic,” says the mayor, Óscar Noda.
From the southern City Council they assure that “this week the tender for the supply, on a rental basis, of Christmas lighting and decorative elements that will decorate the southern towns” was resolved.
The Consistory adds that this start of placement of Christmas lights, together with the municipal program of events, "has the purpose of promoting the economic revitalization of small and medium-sized businesses through attractive and efficient lighting through the use of sustainable and low consumption lighting.”
Finally, they also add that the City Council is preparing “its traditional Nativity Scene on the esplanade adjacent to the Plaza de Remedios, the most visited portal in Lanzarote.”
