Yaiza will have the latest generation playing surface installed for the practice of eleven-a-side and eight-a-side football this very month of December, before the four-month period stipulated in the contract of 459,000 euros signed on November 4 with the company Fieldturf Poligras, S.A, which guarantees the supply and installation of artificial turf and provision of buried benches, as confirmed by the mayor, Óscar Noda, who this Tuesday visited the southern facility together with the Councilor for Sports and Public Works, Ángel Lago, and municipal technicians.

The mayor points out that "it will be the first field with one hundred percent organic filling in the Canary Islands and strict quality standards, fulfilling our objective of delivering to the service of boys, girls, young people and adults practicing football in the municipality a top-level playing field, durable and safe for the players".

For his part, Councilor Ángel Lago declares that "the contractor has experience in the supply and installation of turf to large European clubs and football fields in Las Rozas, where all the base teams of the Royal Spanish Football Federation train and compete, therefore, this reality gives us confidence to complete the project with a result according to the investment effort made by the City Council with municipal funds".

With the old turf already removed, the contractor will begin this Wednesday to place the elastic base on the asphalt, and then install the new turf, sand and finally add the organic filling (corn) as an alternative to granulated rubber. The project includes the civil works necessary for the execution of buried player benches with VIP-type seats and a bench with two seats for the field delegate and also the improvement of the fencing.

After the completion of these works, Yaiza will execute the two projects that it has drafted to improve the facilities of the Playa Blanca football field, another action in terms of sports infrastructure that the City Council considers "priority".
