Two new witnesses are summoned this Friday in the Court of Instruction Number 2 of Arrecife, within the framework of the case opened for the alleged plot for the massive granting of illegal licenses in Playa Blanca. One of them, Antonio Domínguez Vila, has been summoned at the request of the defense of one of the main defendants, Felipe Fernández Camero, whom the Prosecutor's Office points to as the alleged mastermind of the plot and as the "inducer of the allegedly criminal conduct of José Francisco Reyes".

And it is that in addition to the fact that many of the accused businessmen share companies or economic ties, the figure of Fernández Camero also connects them to each other, and with the former mayor and the technicians accused in the process. In fact, almost all have been defended and advised, in administrative or criminal proceedings, by Fernández Camero or by colleagues from his office.

To deny this accusation, Camero's defense has requested the summoning of this new witness, trying to point him out as the "inducer" of the former mayor of Yaiza. Domínguez Vila is a professor at the University of La Laguna and, during Reyes' time as mayor, prepared a report at the request of the City Council in which, "from a political point of view", he recommended continuing to grant licenses, although he acknowledged that current legislation did not allow it.

Domínguez Vila was due to appear in court last January, but a problem with the summons forced his statement to be delayed, which was postponed until this Friday.

In addition to this professor, another person is also summoned on this day to testify as a witness in court. His name appeared in the framework of this investigation, after the searches that were carried out on September 30, 2009, when José Francisco Reyes, his wife and three of his children were arrested.
