The Titerroy Neighborhood Association has filed a formal complaint with the City Council about the state of deterioration of the Arrecife Youth Center, located in the vicinity of their neighborhood.
The residents of this neighborhood of the capital wonder "what exactly has the Arrecife City Council done to rehabilitate the Youth Center." "It gives a very bad image to the neighborhood" they add.
According to the neighborhood association, the Arrecife Youth Center has been in a state of neglect since 2006, and they state that "on numerous occasions" they have addressed the City Hall asking when the works will begin."
From the neighborhood association they remember that at the time, "the Popular Group already urged the previous mayor, Enrique Pérez Parrilla, with a series of questions in order to shed light on the current situation and the start-up of the works."
Ismael Montero, president of the Neighborhood Association, criticizes "the bad image offered by the building. There is a complete abandonment of the facade and gardens." In addition, he adds that "the neighbors also want the property to be used, since it has not housed any activity since it was closed in 2006."
Now, they ask the mayor "when will the Arrecife Youth Center be ready?" and ask him to "give the appropriate orders to the councilor of parks and gardens, so that the gardens of the youth center are cleaned urgently."
