Tías makes a management report for the year 2022 with a budget of 34 million and zero debt

The Tías City Council offered this Monday a management report for the year 2022 including the "progress made since" the beginning of the legislature in 2019. The Consistory has highlighted the "excellent economic and financial situation of the consistory when starting the year 2022 with a budget of 25 million euros and ending it with 34 million euros consolidated thanks to subsidies from other administrations and Treasury surpluses."

The mayor, José Juan Cruz, the second deputy mayor and councilor for Social Welfare, Nicolás Saavedra, the councilor for Economy and Finance, Tomás Silvera, and the councilor for Employment and Commerce, Kalinda Pérez, offered, on behalf of their government group colleagues, a summary of all the areas of the City Council with the main novelties of the councilorships.

Saavedra emphasized the transversality of the areas and the functioning of the citizen service office on Bajamar street, with the presence of 5 different consultancies through groups. He highlighted the Conecta Tías community strategy, in which 39 groups are coordinated, the Co-responsible Plan for which 30 children are cared for in a Day service, the Mask 19 project to prevent violence against women and the Food Bank service, which now has about 150 users but which during the pandemic served 780 families in the municipality.

Tomás Silvera highlighted the 13 million euros remaining in the Treasury Surplus, the zero debt with banking entities and the payment in a timely manner (around 16 days) to the consistory's suppliers. He emphasized the increase in scholarships for students, which increased from 700 euros to 1,000 euros; the project for the new school in Tías, the implementation of the training cycle for Restoration and cooking at the IES Puerto del Carmen, the implementation of the last cycle of education from 0 to 3 years in the school of Puerto del Carmen or the educational infrastructures created.

Kalinda Pérez pointed out the investment of 6,676,730 euros since 2019 in different employment and training plans together with other administrations, for which 469 people have been temporarily hired in different areas of the Tías City Council. The councilor highlighted the launch of the Electronic Headquarters, which doubled the amount of payments made by card in 2022 and through which a total of 35,448 procedures were carried out in 2022. In this legislature, the City Council's subsidy unit was created, Wi-Fi zones were created and online courses were offered with more than 300 participants.

There was also talk of the investment in Sports, the reactivation of events for Youth, the numerous activities for the elderly, the Culture and Festivities events, the activity of the technical office and the professionalism of the municipal workers and collaborators of the City Council.

José Juan Cruz highlighted the 66 works executed since 2019, 25 of them executed last year, which total an investment of 16 million euros in the municipality. Of this amount, 4.5 million euros correspond to the works executed on Avenida de las Playas in Puerto del Carmen. The mayor also highlighted the creation of new parking spaces, which doubled since 2019 and currently reach 1,881 parking spaces in Puerto del Carmen; the construction of the Mácher roundabout and the project to double the LZ40 road; the incorporation of 5 new Local Police officers and the 7 new positions announced, in addition to the 3 Police officer positions; and the implementation of the 24-hour Emergency service in the Tías Health Center with the incorporation of new specialties.
