The Teguise City Council celebrated its traditional White Night this Friday, July 26, which filled the streets of the city's historic district with shows, concerts, exhibitions, and theaters distributed on different stages with free access, and for an audience of all ages. An initiative that brought together thousands of people throughout the day.

The mayoress of Teguise, Olivia Duque, was in charge of starting this festivity, and stated that the White Night is a meeting point between culture and music, which brings together hundreds of people, both from inside and outside the island. "It is a pride to see how this event receives, year after year, the support of the population," she said.

For his part, the Councilor for Culture, Javier Díaz, highlighted that this festival "is a reflection of the City Council's commitment to the culture and traditions of the citizens." He also thanked the staff "who have worked tirelessly" to make the celebration a reality, as well as all the people who attended.

The performances of the White Night began from 4:30 p.m. with activities in the children's area, such as game workshops and the visit of the Disney princesses. Subsequently, the different stages began to delight the public with their concerts, for example, the performances of Los Conejeros, the Defecto Venturi groups, Swing Latino and Soul Sanet. The youth area in the Plaza de la Mareta started well into the afternoon with the activities programmed for the most youthful public, from the barber exhibition, DJ and pole dance to the performances of local artists.

In this line, cultural exhibitions were also offered. At 6:00 p.m. the permanent exhibition entitled Ángel Guerra was inaugurated in the Cultural House of the Villa de Teguise, presented by Pepe Betancort, and at 7:00 p.m., another called Chromatic and Luminous Seasons.

The fashion show, the show "Guardians of the Town" and the traditional parade, gave way in the Plaza de los Leones to a devoted public that vibrated with the music of the groups until its completion.

In addition, in this celebration there were not only musical shows, but also the establishments joined this celebration offering gastronomic variety to the attendees.

Novelties such as videomapping projections and sensory vests for people with hearing disabilities were added to the new initiatives within the 2024 program.

At the end of the celebration, the cleaning and garbage collection was carried out, whose effort has allowed the Villa to wake up clean and tidy after a night of intense activity.

The Teguise City Council thanked the work of both the security and emergency personnel and the cleaning staff and assured that it will continue working to ensure that events as important as the White Night of Teguise continue to be a success, always guaranteeing the safety and well-being of all citizens and visitors.
