With a maximum tender amount of 1,838,850 euros and an execution period that should not exceed 7 months, the new House of Volcanoes will be "a space in which tradition and innovation are combined", according to the entity.

“We are going to recover and value the essence of the House of Volcanoes in a completely renovated space that will also show new exhibition content based on the latest technologies”, says the CEO of the Centers, Benjamín Perdomo. Thus, the visitor will be able to "admire the instruments used in the Geodynamics Laboratory of Lanzarote and the always striking Hall of Mirrors, while enjoying informative projections on LED and touch screens; vinyl, interactive and audiovisual panels, and an augmented reality photocall that will allow you to interact through social networks".

The new House of Volcanoes will be structured around three thematic axes. The first will show the geological formation process of the volcanic tube of La Corona and the transformation carried out in Jameos del Agua by the artist César Manrique, which will also have a specific room. Visitors will also be able to learn some of the secrets hidden by the Tunnel of the Atlantic.

The second axis will focus on the work developed in the House of Volcanoes and on the contents of Geopark Lanzarote – Chinijo Archipelago. ‘Planetary analogs’ will show, finally, the mission of the European Space Agency and the result of the practical exercises that it has carried out in Lanzarote as a testing ground for space technologies. Benjamín Perdomo believes that “this content proposal will provide useful information and add value to the experience of our visitors in Jameos del Agua.”
