The Yaiza City Council, together with the company Horinsa, has launched the refurbishment of the Playa Blanca taxi rank located on Bienvenida Martín "La Practicanta" street. The project is carried out with funds from the council and its objective is to carry out asphalting work, painting horizontal signs and renovating vertical signs, as well as the information panels in the area.
To follow the evolution of this project that promises to improve the safety and appearance of the town's main taxi rank, the mayor of the Yaiza City Council, Óscar Noda, visited the work area last Tuesday. Also attending the visit were the Councilor for Roads and Public Works, Ángel Lago, and the Councilor for Transportation and Citizen Security, Beatriz Vázquez.
According to Councilor Ángel Lago, "the area was very deteriorated and needed certain improvements, mainly to condition the surface," he says. Although it was not initially considered, the Area of Roads and Public Works "have also taken the opportunity to renew the horizontal and vertical signage." For her part, Beatriz Vázquez highlighted that “this action was a demand from the taxi sector but also offers greater comfort and safety to residents and visitors in this central area where the intercity bus also stops.”
This reform is the beginning of a larger project that the Yaiza City Council is working on. It is a "much more ambitious plan in the area, which we are modifying and which includes the pedestrianization of the entire area through a plan aimed at improving open commercial areas," says the mayor of Yaiza, Óscar Noda.
