The highest representatives of the Tías City Council, the mayor José Juan Cruz and the deputy mayors, Mame Fernández and Nicolás Saavedra, as well as the Councilor for Urban Planning, Ulpiano Calero, visited the works that are being carried out to build the La Perla shopping center. The members of the tripartite verified the "good pace" of the works, a project that will provide Puerto del Carmen with a total of 359 parking spaces.
The government group of Tías, formed by PSOE, Lanzarote Avanza (LAVA) and Lanzarote en Pie-Sí Podemos-Equo, has valued the "agility" and the pace of the works that are being carried out in Puerto del Carmen and recalls that after the completion of the project, the town will have another parking space for vehicles.
The La Perla shopping center building will be located on the plot of the old aparthotel with the same name. The space has a total sales area of 5,912 square meters, although the usable area will be 24,945 square meters. In this way, the ground floor and the first floor will be used for commercial use, while the parking lots will be located from the second floor (there are five floors in total).
Double access to the parking lot
From the Consistory it is highlighted that "to avoid the increase in traffic flow along Avenida de las Playas", it has been proposed to establish the order of vehicle circulation that allows access to the parking lots both from Avenida de las Playas and from Guatifay street, behind the future shopping center. In fact, access through Guatifay street has been prioritized as the main entrance and exit.
The project also highlights that, in parallel, work will have to be done both on the construction of the building and on the conditioning of Guatifay street, which will be improved. The priority access from this street, which is reached from the roundabout of the Biosfera Plaza shopping center and Guardilama street, will prevent vehicles from circulating along Avenida de Las Playas according to the City Council.
In addition, the circulation of heavy traffic will be avoided to carry out the supply of merchandise to the shopping center using Acatife street, from which the space for loading and unloading merchandise will be connected. The developer Lanzasuiza will in turn take care of conditioning the pedestrian access that connects Guatifay street with Avenida de las Playas.
