According to the Tourism Councilor and CEO of the Local Public Business Entity of the Art, Culture and Tourism Centers, Pedro San Ginés, "in Spain there are more than 40,000 certified companies, and the Tourist Centers are one of the few public companies in the Canary Islands that have achieved ISO 9001." Similarly, as reflected in the audit report carried out by AENOR, the CEO of the Cabildo's Public Entity explains that "it represents the best recognition of the work carried out by the workers and managers of the CACT."

But Lanzarote doesn't just live on CACT. The island also wants to attract sports-loving tourists, and a good option is Fotosub 2007, the underwater photography contest that the island celebrates every year and that attracts divers from all over the world. Inés Rojas pointed out after the presentation of this year's edition that "the Lanzarote marina is also a Biosphere Reserve" and is "a good way to attract tourists."

Beautifying the Lanzarote lobby

The Lanzarote Airport is the main gateway to the Island, and to make a good impression, the Art, Culture and Tourism Centers have been working on a project to personalize its facilities "with the spirit and artistic and cultural philosophy of the Island," which is expected to be completed next March.

The objective is for tourists to perceive an image of the island "impregnated with art, nature, respect for the environment, culture and the natural beauty of Lanzarote," explain from the Art, Culture and Tourism Centers. In total there will be 26 large-format traditional ceramic pieces on the access ramps for baggage collection, a hyper-realistic model of the Island, among other actions.
