The mayor of Teguise, Oswaldo Betancort, together with his Councilor for Roads and Works, Echedey Eugenio, were reviewing the final touches that the improvement and rehabilitation project of the Tahíche sports center needs, which will be inaugurated in August. This work has had a cost of 300,000 euros.
The interventions in this sports space have been varied: improvement and rehabilitation of the sports hall (enclosures, painting, installation of new gutters and expansion of rows of stands); action on the ball court (rust removal treatment and painting); intervention in the changing rooms of the football field (waterproofing and replacement of wood carpentry with aluminum); and construction of a visor-type roof on the football field. In addition, work has been carried out on the exterior, demolishing the planters, installing curbs and sidewalks, to recondition the parking area.
Caleta de Sebo is illuminated
Also, this Friday 426 new light points will be inaugurated in La Graciosa, which extend through the different roads of the town and whose channeling is underground. Of these, 409 are single light points and 17 are double. The project has had a cost of 900,000 euros.
The new lighting service, according to reports from the Consistory, "takes into account the savings in both energy consumption (45 percent); and the cost of the lamps, as they have a longer operating time (120 percent)". Likewise, "it reduces maintenance costs (60 percent) and also has a system for reducing light pollution during the night".
