The socialists of San Bartolomé, through a press release, accuse the City Council of the municipality of an alleged illegality, by wanting to charge 5 euros for making the Income Tax Return for its residents. Stinga has stated that there is no municipal ordinance regulating the provision of this service or the collection thereof.

"This proposal constitutes an alleged illegality, since it has not been published in the BOC or publicly displayed for the presentation of allegations," said Andres Stinga, who also added that the announcement will mean unfair competition for advisors and professionals in the sector because none of them charge that price for making the income tax return.

"This offer to the resident is a flight forward by the Consistory, in view of the economic situation in which it finds itself," commented Stinga. In addition, he added that the San Bartolomé City Council has a debt of some 18.8 million euros that it must pay to banking entities and suppliers, in addition to the extra-budgetary debt of the last five years.
