The PSOE of Lanzarote confirms the electoral lists with which it will compete for the Cabildo and the city councils

The PSOE of Lanzarote already has the electoral lists with which it will compete in the elections of May 28. The governing bodies of the party on the island have confirmed this Wednesday who will go to the Cabildo and the city councils after a meeting between the Island Executive Committee and the Island Committee of the socialist group held during the evening of Tuesday.

María Dolores Corujo will repeat as candidate for the presidency of the Cabildo of Lanzarote. In addition to Corujo, the list to the Cabildo includes Ariagona González, Benjamín Perdomo, Isabel Martín, Andrés Stinga, Celeste Callero, Alberto Aguiar, Belén Morales, Hugo Delgado, Paula Corujo, Antonio Rocío, Kalinda Pérez, Javier Martín, Aridane Guerra, Gustavo Cruz, Rosana Montelongo, Enrique Pérez Coll, Naima Ekkam, Leandro Morales, Elena Ramírez, Alberto Méndez, Cathaysa López and Juan Manuel Sosa. As alternates are Nieves Rosa Hernández and Marcial Martín.

In addition, the Island Committee, the party's highest body between congresses, indicated to the Regional Directorate of the party its proposal for the island and regional lists to the Parliament of the Canary Islands. The island list is also headed by María Dolores Corujo, followed by Marcos Hernández, Lucía Olga Tejera, Marcos Bergaz, Rosa Callero, Tomás Silvera, Aridane Guerra and Alfredo Villalba. Pedro Viera and Alicia Pérez Hernández have been proposed for the regional list.

Meanwhile, the candidates for the different mayoralties are Alfredo Mendoza in Arrecife, Alfredo Villalba in Haría, Isidro Pérez in San Bartolomé, Marcos Bergaz in Teguise, José Juan Cruz in Tías and Begoña Hernández in Tinajo. The list of Yaiza is still pending to be defined.

The general secretary of the PSOE of Lanzarote, María Dolores Corujo, closed the day stating: "It has been an atypical mandate full of difficulties, but we have fulfilled our commitment to govern for the people." In addition, she stressed that the socialists "have demonstrated our strength and our management capacity in these difficult years."

The candidate for the presidency of the Cabildo assured that the PSOE "is recognized because it is the government of the people and for the people, because our reason for being is to improve people's lives." She also called on the party "to mobilize and go out to the streets with optimism, with enthusiasm and trusting in our strength to improve the electoral results of 2019."
