The socialist group in the Cabildo of Lanzarote will defend in the next plenary session the acquisition of plots adjacent to the Doctor Molina Orosa Hospital for its future expansion, both of facilities and parking spaces. Socialists also believe that "we are at the right time to increase the category of the Regional Hospital Center from First Level to Second Level and with it the launch of new specialties."
According to the spokesperson for the PSOE and former Minister of Health of the Cabildo, José Juan Cruz, "the current economic situation allows planning and organizing for the coming years, also in health matters." Cruz also alludes to the island's demographic reality, "whose growth has not kept pace with the growth of infrastructure and investments due to cuts and has not taken into account the floating tourist population, which reaches figures of more than two million people."
