The councilors of the socialist group in the Cabildo of Lanzarote have sent a press release to defend their attitude in the case of the former worker of the Tourist Centers, Wilfredo Toribio, after the criticism they have received for voting against his readmission, despite the fact that at the time the party came out in defense of this worker.

"The decision to reject the readmission proposal is based on three different reports that support it, in order not to fall into an irregularity in the hiring", the PSOE responds.

The PSOE councilors assure that "at no time" did the socialist group in the Cabildo change its discourse or attitude, "as has happened with other political representatives, concerned about interests other than strictly trade union interests", says the socialist councilor José Antonio Gutiérrez.

"The PSOE remains firm in its defense to the extreme of the weakest and we have demonstrated this in all our interventions. Anyone who points to the socialists as the cause of the dismissal lies and distorts everything, since it is known that the members of the previous government team CC-PNL-PIL and PP were responsible for the determination", adds Gutiérrez.

The socialist councilors ask for "greater exercise of responsibility" from the political groups represented in the public institution and regret that "those who did abandon the fight for the most disadvantaged want to turn us into the target of their whims and search for electoral gain".
