After the statements made by the island president of Coalición Canaria, Mario Pérez, against the PSOE during the Political Convention that the party held last weekend, the Socialist Party of Lanzarote has issued a statement in which it assures that Pérez's attacks "respond to the generalized downturn in morale that affects nationalism" after verifying "its brutal collapse" in the polls on voting intention in the 2007 elections, which have been published so far.
The socialists assure that the president of Coalición Canaria in Lanzarote has "lit a fireworks display" attacking the PSC, and even allow themselves to ironize with the supposed nervousness of the nationalists, including in their press release a hypothetical conversation between the island president of CC and another member of the party. "Hey Mario!, what do we do?".
Adán does not return the money, the health system collapses, the 12 euros per day allowance for relatives of patients is a misery and the schools are fixed by manufacturing barracks..."
The statement issued by the PSOE as a reaction to the attacks of its government partner against them, recommends Mario Pérez and his party to "relax, not get annoyed and strive to demand that their colleagues in the Government of the Canary Islands fulfill their commitments to Lanzarote" because, according to the secretary of communication of the PSOE, "citizens are going to start thinking that it is true that they are the sharecroppers of ATI on this island".
The Socialist Party takes the opportunity to defend itself against the accusations about the "businesses" that Pérez claimed his government partner was doing with promoters, increasing the number of beds on the island, and assures in its statement that it will continue to protect "the control of the territory, the brake on urban growth and sustainability policies".
