The PSOE of Teguise, through a press release, shows its criticism of the municipal government formed by the Canarian Coalition (CC), Popular Party (PP) and the former Vox councilor for "being left out" of the alternating training with employment projects (PFAE) of the Canarian Employment Service (SCE) and the Ministry of Labor and Social Economy.

This November 15, the resolution was announced granting subsidies for the development of these employment projects, which total 78 throughout the Canary Islands, and are financed each with 356,697 euros, within a program endowed with 27,822,366 euros.

"Teguise, to the misfortune of the 874 unemployed people in the municipality, 363 men and 511 women, will not develop any of these projects that last eleven months in which training is combined with paid work, allowing the hiring of 15 students, in addition to management, teaching and support staff in charge of the development of each of the projects," says the socialist spokesman, Marcos Bergaz.

"While other municipalities such as San Bartolomé, Tías or Yaiza have been awarded 4, 3 and 3 projects respectively, Teguise refuses to obtain financing and develop this type of projects that generate job opportunities. All this, despite our repeated initiatives to implement this type of projects that generate job opportunities," laments Bergaz.

"It is even less understood, recalls the socialist leader, when these projects are aimed at unemployed people, preferably without professional qualifications or with low professional qualifications, who have greater difficulties in finding employment as long-term unemployed, job seekers over 45 years of age, young people under 30 years of age, women victims of gender violence or people with recognized disabilities equal to or greater than 33%."

"In addition, we greatly fear, Bergaz anticipates, that the municipality will suffer the same fate with the call for employment subsidies corresponding to the Youth Guarantee program, called last October and pending resolution. We hope we are wrong, but it seems to us, in view of the background, that it will be another lost opportunity."

Finally, from the socialist ranks they announce that they will ask the Teguise government in the next plenary session "if they plan to bet on this type of projects at some point, as other municipalities similar to ours do and that allow training, acting and employing in areas such as the care of people, the environment or renewable energies".
