The Prosecutor's Office has shown itself in favor of the Supreme Court opening a procedure and appointing an investigating judge to investigate the alleged mistreatment of the ex-wife of the former socialist Minister of Justice and European deputy Juan Fernando López Aguilar.
The Supreme Court prosecutor in charge of this matter, Pilar Fernández, has indicated in a report sent to the Second Chamber of that court that from the content of the reasoned statement sent by the Court of Violence against Women number 2 of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria "the existence of a crime in the field of gender violence is evident".
